Quick reads

Just as many social networkers enjoy the challenge of compressing their observations into a 140-word tweet, many writers have become intrigued with the power of a story told in just a few words. While flash fiction can be as short as a sentence, as a rule it tops out at 1,000 words.

This blog post, “A Flash of Inspiration,” provides a good guide to the flash fiction genre.

  1. It was nice meeting you at tonight’s Weblogger Meetup! Thanks to your blog post, I’ve spent all the time since I’ve been home reading flash fiction. Love it. Hope to see you at another event!

  2. I’ve written quite a bit of flash fiction myself and truly enjoy it as an art form. Hopefully you wouldn’t mind checking out a few of my pieces over at paulandthespleen.com under the “For Just A Moment” page.
